Philodendron Burle Marx

The philodendron ‘Burle Marx’ is named after the Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, who used native tropical plants in modern landscape designs. Burle Marx was also a protector of Brazilian rainforests and a lover of Amazonian plants, especially philodendrons, which he gathered into an extensive collection of over 500 specimens. Philodendron ‘Burle Marx’ is a unique, collectible variety with a climbing habit and exceptionally decorative leaves that amaze with their original shape. The heart-shaped leaves are very elongated, set on short petioles and are arranged vertically, creating an almost tight green wall. The leaf blade impresses with its shine and a beautiful, juicy, green color with a visible thick and lighter main nerve that maintains a large leaf surface like a strong spine. The climbing habit and the peculiar arrangement of leaves make the philodendron ‘Burle Marx’ a perfect plant for greening vertical surfaces, creating the impression of a vertical green wall.
