Pipper sylvaticum is a type of pepper that comes from China and India. It is a climber that climbs trees in nature, reaching a length of more than 4 m. It is a dioecious plant, which means that there are female and male flowers on separate specimens. It has the ability to quickly spread and rooting very easily wherever the shoots touch the ground. It is a rare plant in home cultivation, but it gains fans because of its wonderful and very decorative leaves, which delight the eye with their expressive drawing and interesting color. Ripe leaves are heart-shaped, slightly elongated, 5 to 12 cm long and 4 to 7 cm wide, set on long petioles and have a slightly furrowed surface. They are enchanting with a silvery-gray color with a dark green net of nerves, which creates an expressive, mosaic ornament on a lighter, slightly shimmering background. Flowering indoors is rare, but it may happen that the plant blooms with inconspicuous yellowish inflorescences. Male specimens have slender inflorescences 4-9 cm long, female specimens bloom with smaller inflorescences 3 cm long. After flowering, tiny 3 mm spherical fruits are formed. Piper sylvatica will be an original interior decoration with effective foliage. It should be grown near supports on which it will be able to climb.
