Hoya ‘Black Cat’ is a unique, collectible variety of the wax plant (Hoya) that is becoming increasingly popular among houseplant enthusiasts.
 – It has dark green leaves with distinct, almost black veins, giving it a mysterious, elegant appearance.
 – The flowers are small, white, often resembling cat’s paws – hence the name “Black Cat.”
 – It occurs naturally in the tropical forests of Vietnam and grows as an epiphyte.
 – It prefers bright, diffused light – direct sun can burn the leaves.
 – The soil should be well-drained, e.g., a mixture of all-purpose soil with perlite, coconut chips, and activated carbon.
 – Watering: Moderate, only when the soil is thoroughly dry. Excess water can lead to root rot.
 – It does not like frequent repotting – it is best to do so every few seasons.
 – Toxicity data is inconclusive, so it is recommended to keep it away from pets. Once mature, it may flower, producing umbels of star-shaped flowers with a sweet caramel-like scent.
The plant is sold in a pot with a diameter of 11cm. Plant height measured with the pot is approx. 20 – 25cm
