Hoya curtisii is an epiphytic species that grows naturally in the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia. In home cultivation, it is a captivating rarity that cannot be missing in any collection. It is one of the smallest species, a compact miniature with charming tiny leaves and a small, initially slow growth. Grown in a hanging container, it initially forms a compact form on the soil surface and grows to a height of about 7 cm, after which the shoots begin to hang over the edges of the pot. Ultimately, it can reach a length of 50 cm. The leaves are small, about 1.5 cm long and 2 cm wide, fleshy and thick, roundish in shape with a characteristic pointed tip. They are covered with fine, short hairs and have a captivating olive green color with numerous mottled silver and gray discolorations. In home cultivation, Hoya curtisii blooms reluctantly, but with the right conditions, including a bright position and high air humidity, it can delight us with beautiful and fragrant inflorescences, which consist of 10 to 30 flowers with a diameter of about 2 cm. Single flowers are creamy-green, have five petals characteristically bent backwards and covered with dense, short hairs, and a tiny creamy-white corolla with red spots. Hoya curtisii impresses with both decorative inflorescences and attractive leaves, so it is decorative not only at the time of flowering.

Requirements and care:
Hoya curtisii is an easy and graceful plant in home cultivation. Accustomed in nature to difficult conditions, it does not require excessive care and attention in the apartment. However, it is worth remembering about its mountain origin and the need for high air humidity. Prefers a warm position with plenty of diffused light. It tolerates drought quite well, but you should not let the substrate dry out completely. However, it is very sensitive to water stagnation and overflow, so the pot should have a lot of drainage holes, and the substrate must be permeable and well drained. A suitable substrate is a universal substrate. It grows best in tight containers, kept on supports or in a hanging form. In the period from spring to late summer, we feed with fertilizer for flowering plants.
The plant is sold in a pot with a diameter of 14 cm. Plant height measured with the pot is approx. 20-30 cm.
