The Philodendron Gloriosum is one of the most sought-after collectibles for a reason. This unique plant lives in the tropical forests of Colombia, Mexico and Central America, where it spreads on the ground. In its natural environment, its heart-shaped leaves reach an impressive size of up to 90 cm in length and 40 cm in width. The philodendron gloriosum is highly valued for its characteristic leaf blade innervation, which takes a white, light green or light pink color, and in combination with the vivid green of the leaves, it creates a composition pleasing to the eye. In addition, thanks to the velvety surface, the light reflects off the plate in a non-obvious, subtle way, which is appreciated by lovers of details. This simple and at the same time effective philodendron enjoys unflagging popularity and can be safely counted among the iconic representatives of philodendrons.
In the natural environment, the rhizomes of the Philodendron Gloriosum enable the plant to spread over the ground, which means that it requires similar conditions in our homes. Therefore, it is worth providing him with an oblong pot so that the rhizomes have enough space – otherwise their growth may be slowed down. Also, do not bury the stems of Philodendron Gloriosum too deep in the substrate – this is another factor that can slow down plant growth. As the leaves of this philodendron grow older, they become more and more velvety.

Requirements:
Philodendron gloriosum should not be exposed to direct sunlight, as its delicate leaves can get burned. A suitable site is one where the sun’s rays reach only in the early morning or evening hours. A place with a lot of diffused light will also be perfect. Philodendrons are sensitive to overflow, so care should be taken that the substrate is not wet for a long time, but only moist. The philodendron can cope with the windowsill without a humidifier, but it would be ideal to raise the humidity to about 70-80%, which will accelerate its growth.
A suitable substrate is a universal substrate. The preferred temperature is 18-25 degrees Celsius. The plant should be fertilized with green plant fertilizer once every two weeks from spring to autumn.
Philodendron gloriosum is a plant that is toxic to humans and animals, so be careful when growing indoors.
The plant is sold in a pot with a diameter of 15cm. Plant height measured with the pot is approx. 65 – 90 cm
