If you are looking for a plant that is resistant to neglect, undemanding, but one that will be intriguing and stand out with its shape, Sansevieria Silver Almond is a proposition just for you! It has strong, stiff, spreading leaves that are arranged opposite and can reach up to 40-45 cm in length. When we look at the plant in profile, its shape may evoke associations with a fan. The leaf blades are massive, very fleshy and hard. They are arranged in rosettes with a shape unusual for other plants, which becomes more interesting the older the plant is. The edges of its leaves are delicately ribbed and silver in color. This subtle addition beautifully outlines its beautiful, unusual shape. The surface of the leaf blades is distinguished by subdued, gray-green or olive colors. Almond Silver is a rare, but extremely interesting and surprising variety of sansevieria.
Due to its incredible resistance to lack of water, Sansevieria is called the “iron plant”. All Sanseveria varieties have in common that they adapt well to difficult living conditions – they are not afraid of dry air, water shortage and little daylight. Another undoubted advantage is its slow growth, which means there is no need for frequent replanting. Sansevierias are long-lived plants that are perfect for amateurs, and at the same time fit perfectly into modern interiors. Another advantage is that they purify the air from toxins such as benzene, formaldehydes, trichlorethylene, toluene and xylene. Sansevierias are ideal houseplants that not only filter the air, neutralizing toxic compounds, but also produce large amounts of oxygen.
Advantages:
a rare variety
eye-catching colors: gray intertwined with olive green
gently wavy edges of silver-colored leaves
fantastic, original design
strong, stiff leaves
resistant and undemanding plant
Requirements:
Sansevieria is an undemanding plant, easy to grow and drought-resistant. A bright position with diffused light or a semi-shaded position will be most suitable for it. Sansevieria does not tolerate excess water, so it is best to provide it with adequate drainage. The soil should be quite fertile, humus-rich and permeable. A suitable substrate for sansevieria is the substrate for succulents and cacti. Water the plant only when the soil is completely dry. We feed with liquid multi-component fertilizer every 3-4 weeks. It is worth remembering that sansevieria will forgive us any negligence, apart from flooding with excessive amounts of water. It will tolerate a lack of water, fertilizer, light and too tight a pot, even for many weeks. Fertilizer for cacti and succulents is adapted to the plant’s requirements.
The plant is sold in a pot with a diameter of 12 cm. Plant height measured with the pot is approx. 20 – 25 cm.
