Charming succulent of small size, which is characterized by a very interesting coloration. Compared to many other varieties of sansevieria, the color of ‘Star Canary’ is truly unique. The distinctive, juicy yellow color illuminates the youngest leaves and contrasts beautifully with the dark green of the older ones. The beautiful, harmonious habit of rosettes of the ‘Star Canary’ variety is further emphasized by light, beige leaf margins that outline their wavy edge. As it matures, the golden color of the leaves fades and turns into a deep olive green shade, which provides a contrasting background to the fresh, growing leaves with a sunny, golden color. The variety ‘Star Canary’ belongs to the miniature variety and usually does not reach large sizes, it grows very slowly. Its golden color is conditioned by access to a large amount of light.
Due to its amazing resistance to lack of water, Sansevieria is called “the plant of iron”. All varieties of Sansevieria have in common that they adapt well to difficult living conditions – they are not afraid of dry air, lack of water and a small amount of daylight. An undoubted advantage is also slow growth, which means that there is no need for frequent repotting. Sansevieria are long-lived plants that are ideal for amateurs, and at the same time fit perfectly into modern interiors. Another advantage is that they clean the air of toxins such as: benzene, formaldehydes, trichlorethylene, toluene and xylene. Sansevieria are ideal houseplants that not only filter the air by disposing of toxic compounds, but also produce large amounts of oxygen.

Requirements and care:
Sansevieria ‘Star Canary’ is an undemanding, easy to grow and drought resistant plant. The most suitable for her will be a bright position with diffused light or semi-shady. Sansevieria does not tolerate excess water, so it is best to ensure its proper drainage. The substrate should be quite fertile, humus, permeable. A suitable substrate for sansevieria is a substrate for succulents and cacti. Water the plant only when the soil is completely dry. We feed with liquid compound fertilizer every 3-4 weeks. It is worth remembering that sansevieria will forgive us any negligence, except flooding with excessive amounts of water. It will perfectly endure a shortage of water, fertilizer, light and too tight a pot, even for long weeks. A fertilizer for cacti and succulents is adapted to the requirements of the plant.
The plant is sold in a pot with a diameter of 12 cm. Plant height measured with the pot is approx. 20 – 30 cm.
