Scindapsus treubii ‘Dark Form’ is an incredible treat for lovers of dark-leafed plants. This unique tropical vine delights with beautiful, shiny, lanceolate leaves with a dark green, almost black color, which grow alternately from equally dark and long shoots. This variety is rarely available for sale, so it will certainly please collectors and those looking for plant treasures. It has a climbing habit and looks best grown on ladders or coconut stakes. In this arrangement, the leaves will be larger and the blades will delight with their fantastically colored surface. In favorable, truly tropical conditions, the leaves reach a length of up to 50 cm, and the shoots extend to about 2.5 m. In home cultivation, the growth will be slower and smaller, and the leaves will be slightly shorter, which will not detract from their beauty in any way. Alternatively, the plant can be grown in hanging containers, from which the shoots will hang in a cascade. Thanks to its uniformly colored, dark and shiny leaves, this variety delights with its incredible elegance and does not require complicated care.

Requirements:
Scindapsus grows on the undergrowth of rainforests and climbs the trunks of tall trees, which gives us a lot of tips on its care. The position in which he will feel good should be bright, with plenty of diffused light. Direct southern sun may burn its leaves, while a location that is too shaded will cause the plant to stretch out towards the sun, which results in elongation of the internodes and loss of its compact shape. For this reason, it is recommended to place the scindapsus on the eastern, northern or western windowsill. Another important element in the cultivation of husks is the substrate, which should be slightly acidic, fertile, humus-rich, and at the same time permeable. A suitable substrate will be a universal substrate.
Scindapsus should be watered only when the substrate is almost completely dry. It is a plant sensitive to overwatering, which can lead to rotting of the roots and the development of bacterial or fungal infections. The air humidity suitable for scindapsus should be at least around 50%. The higher the humidity, the more the plant will appreciate it. The plant should be regularly fertilized with fertilizer for green plants according to the instructions given on the manufacturer’s label. Fertilization should be done in sunny months – preferably from March to October. However, if we use light bulbs in the winter months, we should not give up fertilizing even during this period.
The plant is sold in a pot with a diameter of 12 cm. Plant height measured with the pot is approx. 25-35 cm.
