Hoya kerrii is a charming, Asian climbing plant that can eventually reach over 4 meters in height. It is also called heart-shaped or Valentine’s hoya because of its charming heart-shaped leaves. In the unique variety ‘Variegata’, their form is additionally emphasized and enhanced by the irregular cream-yellow rim. Due to the relatively slow growth rate and difficult reproduction, it is difficult to find it on sale as a plant with shoots. Most often it can be found in stores in the form of a rooted leaf, which, with a bit of luck, only after 1-2 years gives a sprout. The long stems of this hoya are decorated with thick, fleshy, green leaves that grow opposite on short, dark green petioles. Flowering occurs in the summer and then we can see inflorescences in the form of spherical, hanging umbels. They consist of about 20-25 small, creamy-white, star-shaped flowers. An additional color accent is their pink or pink-purple crowns. Otherworldly, shiny flowers seem to be made of porcelain or covered with wax. Hoya kerrii ‘Variegata’ is a unique and unique plant that cannot be ignored.
